Any half competent hunter will eventually kill a deer. Turkey, not so much.....................

Around here the folks that are passionate about hunting are turkey hunters, Of course during deer season, most of the same folks are as bad about that!

Used to be a fall turkey season here, only thing was had to use bird shot, no buckshot or rifle. For the last 40 years, only spring season and of course, only bird shot loads. In spite of that, around here, turkey populations seem to fluctuate wildly from year to year.

Several years ago we had a flock that would come out of the woods and creek bottom and graze in the pastures around the house. During the spring, a couple of the toms would strut about a hundred yards past the yard fence. Didn't seem to mind me driving by in the pickup. Guess he had more important things on his mind!
