NW Central Ohio
Here's the deal, you probably won't win your case in court. But that's OK. Go to the church and request to be heard at their administrative board meeting. Explain to them what happened. Offer to donate the hamburger from the cow to them if they compensate you for your loss. But make it perfectly clear that next year there will be video cameras set up the night of their celebration and that if your cows are disturbed or injured that you will be taking them to court. You should also document milk production for the week before and week after. You might not win that one either. You don't have to. An attorney costs money, something every church doesn't want to spend. Make them understand that you don't care whether you win or not, that they're going to end up spending as much time and money defending themselves in court as if they paid the damages to start with. That will get them thinking.
