in iowa, before you can get a permit to shoot off fireworks, you need proof of insurance for damage of this sort. might be hard to prove that something else didn't cause the cow to break i leg. i am sure the church has such insurance. i would file a claim before i would do the court deal. maybe you can donate the hamburger for the church picnic.
