Once installed, you specify when you want it to scan and also tell it whether you want it to download new definitions before scanning. So in that respect, it isn't constantly in the process of downloading updates like many of the other programs. What little I've used it, the definition updates do seem to take some time on a 1.5 meg DSL connection. Not sure what kind of luck you'd have with it. Doesn't cost much to try and even with definitions that are a week old, it's better than nothing. Some really nasty stuff out there that is a real dog to get rid of once it has bit you. |
