The sticks of SD

Help me with the list of expenses that we have now, but did not have in the early 1980's, and cannot cut?

1 - health care is mandated or IRS fines you

2 - corn, bean, etc., checkoff taxes? I was too young. were they around in the early 80's?

3 - Environment, disposal, & shop supplies $$$ tacked on to any repair bill

4 - Renewable energy charges/taxes on electric bill.

5 - All the fees/ taxes on the phone/cell bill ( I do not mind the 911 charge, but the rest of the fees/taxes?)

6 - ???????????

Edit: maybe this would be better in the café?

1 Health insurance has always been high, but not as high as now. I always said in the 80s that I paid out more in various insurances than I lived on.

2Checkoffs were there in the 80s

3That has been around too.

4Renewable energy charge is new.

5Nothing new here, and long distance used to be 25 cents per minute. I had significantly larger phone bills in the 80s and no internet included.

6Cell phone bill. Look at the money you spend here for cell phones for you, wife, kids. Also look at the horrendous cost of data for your smart phones.
