| Looking for thoughts...
We continually get issues with fines (fm in corn), and we shouldn't based on a modern system with no augers:
GSI Tower dryer (corn is perfect coming out the bottom) - so the problem is AFTER the dryer
This means that nothing in the wet system is causing the problem.
From the dryer it travels through about a 10 foot conveyer to the bottom of the dry corn leg (belt/bucket leg)
The leg is tall (110-120 feet)
From the leg, it goes down a fairly long and steep pipe to a 48 foot diameter bin. This bin accumulates a lot of fines in the center. There is a spreader in the bin, but it obviously doesn't work very well.
There is a dead head on the bin.
Anyone else ever had an issue?
Is the corn going too fast down the pipe?
Is there possibly a joint in the pipe that is not lined up?
Could the dry leg somehow be chewing up the corn?
We are at a loss.
