Subject: RE: Anyone Here Own an Old Elevator?

East Central Ia
Sounds like a lot of nightmare responses but it’s has worked very well for us.

We bought an old elevator sight about 20 years ago and it’s been great for us.

Our situation is a little different I would guess as it sits smack dab in the middle of about 1500 acs that we own/operate.

It has been a lot of maintenance but we have been able to upgrade things over time while patching other things to keep everything operational.

There were 3 grain legs, truck scale, scale house, an overhead load out, dryer, and 350k bu storage in 6 bins.

We have updated the electrical service, dryer, put full floors in all the bins, new paddle sweep in the 250k bu bin, replaced the dry leg, extended the dryer filling leg, replaced one overhead u-trough with a drag conveyor, added a second over head drag conveyor to allow more flexibility in grain transferring...

I can’t imagine how much money it would take now to build all of this functionality!
