Well if the majority of the time there is a carry the GBS guys also get the carry it is just a year later in time. It is called a storage hedge. Or the GBS guys can sell old crop the same time you are selling new crop. In the end it is all about timing the highs of the year wether it is next years crop or last years crop sold a year later.
