Zero smoke. Not even a haze after a pedal smash.

You need to get someone with a computer on it! Betting it's a crummy ecm program but be aware......after getting it tuned properly you want to get out of the truck.

I have a 6NZ program in my MBN and I get slight smoke when shifting loaded 140,000 pounds with 38 psi boost. 15-1600rpm is the shift point for me and this old gal just keeps pulling.

Have to send her in for rebuild and getting everything switched internally to the 6NZ and will bounce the hp to 550hp then.

If you have 38 PSI with a single turbo, you're over 550 (flywheel) hp already. If you're rebuilding it anyway, why not go with a stage one PDI tune?? You don't need to use their (expensive) turbo, there are other (cheaper) options that work excellent.

I don't know whose 550 hp tune you're planning to use, but if it's a stock 550/1850 Cat tune, they're not all that great, IMO.

A stage one PDI will give you 750/2200 (flywheel), run nearly 1 mpg better, and cooler EGT temps than a stock Cat 550 tune. BTDT.

Our 6NZ with a stage one PDI tune runs 43 PSI on a good pull. Rare to see it over 800°F.
