Planting is better behind a stripper head due to the straw being evenly distributed. Only problem we run into at times is the row cleaners will just push the straw and plug. Then we just take one side of the row cleaners off and go. Some years the straw will stay attached, Other years it won't.
I would say that if you run without any row cleaner I would rather plant behind a stripper head than behind a regular grain platform. You do need to watch for hair pinning if the straw is tough.
