Agreed. If you only need a couple thousand gallons per year, transport loads don’t make sense.
I value flexibility and having choices as opposed to being limited by suppliers. There is an advantage to buying transport loads and selling retail other wise, fueling stations wouldn’t exist.
I admit, buying on the front side of a dropping fuel market would defeat the purpose. No different than selling beans last November instead of now. I’m ok living with my own mistakes as long as I learn from them. Sometimes it’s unavoidable.
So I suppose my opinion on Lawfarms original question would be to buy no more 1/2 your yearly usage at any one time. Never a problem to have more storage than that for added flexibility provided it’s not too expensive or time consuming. |
