My son and I were pheasant hunting last weekend. Our 4 year old wirehair got into a row with a raccoon that she pointed. She won, but was pretty bloody. Raccoons are pretty nasty critters so we took her in on a Sunday morning to get cleaned up. After hours visit, sedation and meds to take home was about $240. It was worth it, she's young and a good dog. If you've never been around a fight that involves and raccoon, there are a lot of crazy sounds that come from one.
