East Central South Dakota | The comment of the grain merchandiser is not on the side of the farmer is just not right. Grain companies make money on the volume of their handle and the more money you make for the farmer the more grain he brings you.. So many producers could learn so much from a grain merchandiser they can trust. I might be spoiled, as I have the best in the Dakota’s. He has made me a lot of money when I listen to him and he has lost me some money when I don’t listen to him. Merchandiser’s could care less about price direction. Gaining the humility in fact that we need help once in a while is the first step to selling in the upper third.
