| I went to a local retirement auction this summer. The 2004 2388 with less than 4,000 hours. Just a year before the auction the owner spend around $36,000 on repair and labor because it was a big break down. I saw the receipts for it.. wow so many parts list. The combine brought for I think $34,000
I have 2388 with almost 5,000 engine hours and running strong for 10+ years.
I would look for hydro at salvage yard. I wouldn’t touch the engine because I don’t know how to fix because it’s a Diesel engine, one simple mistake the engine blown up. My uncle rebuild gas engine by himself then he made one little mistake and the engine got locked up. | |
