Right now you would would be hard pressed to get a $5000 salvage bid on your machine. However rebuild the hydro, $4500 toss $7500 at the separator with your labor and aftermarket parts you can go to the field. Worry about the engine when it blows, till then oil is cheap. 8.3 cummins $5000 at the salvage yard and can hear them run. Have a friend with an excavator or boom truck help do the swap.
You might not be an ace mechanic, but at 35 you should be willing to stick your neck out a little past your comfort zone and learn some mechanical skill. After all you have 300 days to do it before you need it, and I guarantee if you get stumped someone on agtalk will have been there done that on a 2388. Good luck with want you decide. | |
