Subject: RE: Westfield VS. Wheatheart Auger

Until the latest Westfield models the lifting cylinders were single acting. The latest models have double acting cylinders so at least the oil doesn’t have to be pushed back to the tractor by the weight of the auger to lower. It might help with that issue, I’m not sure.

Another thing that using double acting cylinders will help with is it won’t drain out the hydraulic reservoir as bad by raising the auger. At least some oil will be returning to the tractor as it lifts.
