Subject: RE: Westfield VS. Wheatheart Auger

I’ve only had Westfield but it seems that after reading reviews and reports about various augers there doesn’t seem to be much difference in quality. There is likely as great of variance of quality within their own brands as between them in my opinion. Some seem to love and some seem to hate the same augers and there seems to be lemons and great runners in each of the brands.

One thing that seems consistent is the cable system doesn’t sag as much as the scissor lift but the scissor lift raises and lowers faster, so pick your poison. I think the newest westfields with the truss system have a lot of improvements over the older models and are worthy of consideration.
