Subject: RE: Rye, give up?

NE Iowa
Last year crops came out very late and October and November were cold. I am only slightly south of you. I planted rye for a neighbor about November 18th. The ground was muddy and I had to do it early morning on a slightly frozen crust. It turned out great and they got a big crop of rye silage before planting late corn. I would plant it normal depth and sometime in the next month you will catch a rain.
