I would drill it tomorrow at the shallowest setting. Rye is an unbelievable crop. You will catch a rain or snow eventually and you want the rye in a position to absorb that moisture. Your drill shouldn't disturb the soil that much. My covers sat in the soil for a month before we caught a rain. Now they look great!
