Holy cow, Don, that's quite a difference! Excel is limited to transform with 2ⁿ variables -- so I was having to use the first 1024 or the last 1024 in this particular series.

I knew Matlab could handle it but couldn't justify the outlay. I'll definitely check into Pylab. Thanks for the tip!
