So, Jay, how much work do you want to put into this?

These are "dreams", so take them as that..... maybe these will spark some ideas.....

First thought: it would be nice to put in a ramp, instead of steps. It would make moving large items - furnace, washer and dryer, etc - in and out of the basement easier.  I would want a ramp covered.  So, my first thought would be to come out from the house, turn right and build your ramp parallel to the main part of the house, with the opening to the left of the screen.

Second thought: when you look at your terrain, the first idea is going the wrong way.  So, come out of your basement, turn left.  Run your ramp straight under the front door, then bring the opening out past the house (to the right of the picture).

Third thought: what about punching a hole in the basement wall on the back side of the house? Run your ramp parallel to the house, putting the opening past the house.  With this idea, you wouldn't encounter the front door, or the picture window, and it would work with the terrain.  How much work would it be to punch a hole in the basement back wall? Would it be worth it?
