Earlville, NY | Anything you need to use a brush for, for every milking, you'd be better off having a pressure washer. Place I used to work had an electric high pressure washer in utility room with hard line out to parlor, one quick-connect each side of the pit, and the switch out there as well. Also had a high flow low-pressure line (1.5") set up the same way.
We wash units off with garden-type hose in pit, walls and floor with the high-volume hose, hit the walls and stalls once a week with high-pressure.
Our parlor we are similar, except pressure washer is an electric portable hot-water unit. Hit the machines, walls and stainless once a week. Not as shiny as using acid wash and brush (do that once a month) but the hot water does a great job. We have a 1" wind-up hose for use on the floors. | |
