Subject: RE: Pressure washer for milking parlor

Madison Co. Virginia
I don't suggest using a pressure washer on a daily basis. Most pumps are only rated for lifespan of one or two hundred hours. You're going to be shucking a lot of money after replacement pump heads.

But for the once-every-couple-months deep cleaning, by all means! If I scrubbed my parlor with a brush, a deep clean would be a 12 hour job. It's done in 3 hours with a pressure washer, and is more effective as well.

Edit: the above advice is for an actual pressure washer. A booster pump like portrayed above, is a different matter entirely. Those can be used on a daily basis. Just be forewarned, that unless you're feeding them from a separate reservoir, they tend to pull a plumbing system down to very low pressures. Any houses on the same system will be suffering non-existent water pressure while you're washing down.
