This thread a little ways below has information suggesting high cholesterol is actually protective as we age. The problem comes in when the cholesterol is damaged and becomes small dense particles. Small dense damaged cholesterol particles are created by glycation. Glycation is caused by excessively high blood glucose levels. Excessively high blood glucose levels are caused by excessive carbohydrate consumption.
