I agree with you 100%. Right when the R series tractors started is when the quality took a nosedive and the prices increased drastically every year. Every piece of machinery I owned was Deere and the service became a big issue. They could get you going, but you can’t even fathom the parts bill to fix simple stuff. In 3 years, I have sold 7 Deere tractors and replaced them with New Versatiles and old Steigers. I sleep better at night especially knowing that a new John Deere will depreciate more in 5 years than I paid for my Versatiles. I felt like I was farming just to make a payment on a tractor that is losing more value than my payment was, all the while getting reamed at the dealership in parts and service. .
