Hi Dan,
It’s best to leave the alfalfa alone this fall so it gets a good root system and hardens off properly. Usually it’s being seeded around now so we never see enough growth to cut - it’s happened a few times planting like you did on the early side but I’ve never seen it harvested. I would use generic select on it soon as most of the wheat is up. Cutting it off won’t lessen it as it’ll have all of sept and oct to really get competitive with the alfalfa.
