I had a jd 1560. I put the alfalfa in the main box and grass in the grass box. The main box seed rate adjustment is sensitive, so one notch either way can vary the rate several pounds. Luckily I had a scale on the drill which made calibrating easy. Or you can do it in the shop: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gM5CH_Z_yjk

Also had the "drill drain" inserts installed so that it emptied completely: https://www.polyskid.com/category/spring-planting/drill-drain/
