S Illinois | I agree. The large mistrust in gov and public institutions was born out of the 60’s and 70’s with Vietnam and Watergate. Add in 24 hr cable networks and it’s a very different world now vs then. All the way from the Polio vaccine to international involvement, government was seen less of the enemy then. Believe there maybe some sensationalism of what the “old days” were actually like. | |
