I'm at a loss for how anyone is alive on this Earth present day seeing as how a vast vast majority of the history of man had none of your life saving rules.

Galaxie I usually agree with the majority of your points but I’d like to respond to this. For that vast history, a LOT of people died. From various factors. And for most of that history man just did not have the number of risks that exist today.

The practice of compensation for workplace injury has existed for over 2000 years. Various Greek and Roman writings are known to have expressed concerns related to miner safety. Actual regulation of dangerous work environments appeared in the 1600s.
