Lots of people claim what you are asking. I noticed when my blood sugars would spike, it was as they came down and bottomed, that I would be very hungry until the liver kicked in production and the sugars would come back up a little.

We have good short term info that if you drink a sugary drink and then eat, you will eat more than if you never had the sugar. The body doesn’t measure calories. If the glucose was by itself, then there is satiety, but the fructose seems to block it.

Makes some sense when the fruit is ripe and you need to put on 20 lbs fast to make it through the winter, but not helpful today.

No culture without regard to what they ate had serious problems with diabetes or heart disease or even cancers until sugar came along. After sugar, th all do.

However sugar doesn’t seem involved in macular degeneration. There we have the strongest relationship with the plant oils.
