When you drive around the "loop" be sure to drive the direction that the tunnels will be lined up with Mt Rushmore. If you drive the other way around you will see it in the rear view mirror. Kind of neat to see Mt Rushmore as driving through the tunnels perfectly lined up.

I like lots of things there. Needles drive on the motorcycles. Custer Park to the south. Just a beautiful area to drive around.

If you venture a little further west Devils Tower park is kind of neat also.
