Plus if you go outside of ag your working season is likely to be longer. For what it would cost to get into custom baling a guy could buy a $25k track skid steer, a $10k dump truck and a trailer and work almost all year long then save up and buy a mini excavator in a couple of years.
I'd rearrange the money allotment a bit. You list about $40k worth of equipment. I'd buy a $15k track skid steer, $20k mini excavator, and a $5k dump trailer. Go cheaper on the skid-steer, and leave the dump truck until later. |
