If I had a son wanting to start farming I wouldn’t charge him anything for using my equipment until he got established for awhile. Even after he was established I’d give him a break. I’ve got two sons that are around that 40 year old ranges. The chances of either one of them wanting to start farming now are very, very slim to never. If I had a grandson wanting to farm I’d give them a bigger break yet :-).

I do realize however you should realistically charge your son something however. You do have wear and tear on your equipment with him using it. Just be fair to him, not a lot of money in farming right now, glad to know there are some young blood out there wanting to pursue a farming career, good luck.
