Unfortunately, the traditional plans that are available "here" don't cover accidents any differently than anything else. You still pay the deductibles and copays. When working through the numbers, if it wasn't for our youngest that has kinda periodic stuff come up, it would be a no-brainer for a healthy family, definately a healthy couple, to use the HSA's. With him, it's right on the edge. At least this way, the money is drawing interest in an HSA account rather than all getting paid into Blue Cross. Like you did, we'll use it a year and see what gives, but those $1000 deductible plans, that still have crappy ER coverage, are HIGH.
