North Dakota
I would say 500 is about as cheap of a family premium as you are going to see in the states for blue cross anyway. My parents were at 1200 before getting on medicare.

I got to spend a night in the Brandon Manitoba hospital about 6 years ago. A van load of university students were coming back into town and my cousin and I were leaving. They lost control, crossed the center line and took us out. They had a 1 ton dodge van, I had a mini van, we lost the derby. My family made the trip up and they said they felt like the had stepped back to about 1980 when being in the hospital, I didnt notice. Everything was very old. Brandon is a pretty good sized town and they thought the facility would have been more modern. I know it makes no difference in the quality of care but just an observation. My cousin spent about 5 days in Brandon and I had to go to Minot, ND because there was not a neuro doc in Brandon. It was an interesting day to say the least.
