Subject: cure hyperinsulinemia? = diabetes in remission

Pittsburg, Kansas

Insulin resistance it likely the major cause of most metabolic diseases. If not the ultimate cause, at least a very significant contributing factor. Diabetes is really a disease of insulin resistance. Common treatment includes drugs to increase the amount of insulin the pancreas puts out and as the disease progresses injected insulin. But in my opinion (based on the research and opinions of forward thinking doctors) treating blood sugar levels by increasing insulin is treating the symptom rather than the disease. The root cause of diabetes type II is hyperinsulinemia. Too much insulin. This, over time causes insulin resistance. Insulin resistance at some point causes the pancreas to max out on insulin production no longer able to control blood glucose (hyperglycemia). That is the point diabetes is diagnosed. Likely ten to twenty years too late. Had insulin levels been checked years earlier, by changing diet, diabetes could have been prevented.

The "cure" for hyperinsulinemia is not to take drugs to increase insulin output or take exogenous insulin. Too much insulin over time has already cause insulin resistance (kind of like taking antibiotics too often and losing its effectiveness or using the same herbicide too much and "resistant" strains of weeds develop).

The cure for insulin resistance, diabetes, is not more insulin but less. The way to require less insulin is to reduce the carbohydrate input to the mouth. My opinion, not medical advice.

Treating the symptom of high blood glucose will help reduce the damage that high blood sugar causes. But high insulin levels are related to all sorts of metabolic diseases.Causing higher and higher levels of insulin creates all sorts of problems within the body. Rather than treat the symptom of high blood sugar, to reverse insulin resistance is to reduce insulin. Insulin is required to push glucose out of the blood stream and into the cells and any excess turn it into fat storage. The way to reduce insulin in the body is to reduce the need for it. The way to reduce the need for it is to not eat foods that require it. The foods that require it are carbohydrates. All carbohydrates are complex sugars that eventually turn into sugar that require insulin to process.

That is why a LCHF or Keto diet is so effective in reversing diabetes. It eliminates the majority of carbohydrates in the diet, thus reducing the need for insulin, thus lowering blood sugar naturally.

Like I said, not medical advice, just the way I see it.
