The trick and tough part of type I is getting the insulin at the correct rate to balance the carbohydrate intake. Tough to keep the highs and low spikes controlled. A lot more doctors are starting to embrace LCHF or ketogenic diets for type I because with the lower amount of carbs equals a lower insulin dose equals fewer low and high spikes. Lots of good info on youtube pertaining to type I and keto/LCHF diets and the success they have been having. Still conventional treatment is a higher carb diet with associated higher insulin injection. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=keto+type+1+diabetes https://typeonegrit.blogspot.com/ https://www.facebook.com/Type1Grit John |
