It is said that a grizzly can outrun a fast horse for short distances. That bear was a couple of jumps away from me when he had second thoughts.
The amazing thing is how bears can go through thick alders without even seeming to slow down. I'm talking about alders so thick that a person almost needs to swim through them. It is impossible to describe how powerful a grizzly is.
