| Thanks. What he says doesn't surprise me at all. The problem isn't so much that they are so sure they are right as they don't want to even hear anything about being wrong. Groupthink is powerful. I can understand why, from an evolutionary point of view, it was valuable. Interestingly, this is one of the things that made the cattle market somewhat easier to analyze. I've always said that there is no one more bullheaded than a cattle feeder. Who else would have sued Oprah Winfrey??
My oldest son is in Seattle working as a biostatistician. He deals with this all the time. I have to admit that this is one good thing about our government - work like this still get funded. | |
