Subject: Re: Wabash River Rats ... take cover

In the early to mid 60's the Huntington Res. (Roush) was being built and as a youngster I wondered why so many roads in our area were raised so high. In 03 I found out. It was amazing how 20 miles east of the dam every road had water right up to it. Their surveying was pretty good. I did go stand on the dam at Huntington and pulled out my tape to measure the water at five feet from the roadway. It was closed to traffic for a few days. I spent the entire week trying to get people sand 24 hours a day for sandbagging in our area. One of those you "tell your grandkids about". Hope I never see it again. Looks like we may have been spared here last night. barnyard has just a few puddles and I see some reflections in the fields around the house. Nothing like Sun morning......yet.
