NE SD | He's already got one tractor that's autosteer ready. He could put autosteer on the other one for I believe right in the $3700 range. After that he needs Display, Activation, and Reciever. The JD setup will cost MUCH less than the Trimble RTK and I haven't seen where he's doing anything where he needs RTK performance. For broadacre seeding all he really needs is SF1 which decreases the cost even more yet. Now, if he were going to be strip-tilling, or running back into row crops with items, I could see him needing SF2 or desiring RTK, but not for what he's doing. Also, after having integrated vs. steering wheel types of autosteer(I've only ridden in a tractor with EZ-Steer), I'll take the integrated any day. | |
