The question you ask is always a concern. No matter what decimeter system (using Satellite differential) you purchase will have this problem. Because if you look at the specs the pass to pass accuracy is 2” to 4”, this means within a 15 time frame you can expect to be within this range. The static error usually is 3x greater. (Static is the accuracy within a 24 hour period.) This is why you may see drift. When, and it will happen, you have drift, you then have the ability to “shift track” or correct your position to correct for the error within the control box in your tractor cab. Other post in this thread is correct. If you never want this issue to happen RTK is the only option (as long as you have permanent base station location and the will to spend more money). With RTK both static and pass-to-pass accuracy is approximately 1”.

As you use your system there are tricks you can use to make sure when the drift happens you won’t be caught off guard. Such as stopping one day and starting the next;
• Pull ahead with your planter, then back up to leave wheel tracks. The next morning drive into the same wheel track and “shift track” your position.
• If you still have markers on your air seeder. Before you stop leave a mark for your next pass.
• These are examples and I am sure you will find the way best for you.

So, no matter what brand you purchase these companies give you the ability to be as accurate as you want tobe.

We also use tramlines in our small grain fields and found this is a very effective way to spray within the growing season. We use SF2 on our air seeder, it works, and you won’t be disappointed.
