Subject: Re: JD autosteer

Well I talked to my JD dealer today, the 8330 is autosteer ready with the hydraulic steering system built in, all i need is the gps on the roof, some card or something and no need for the steering wheel setup. $8000 canadian to setup and he will let me demo it. To get the gs2 display was another 5000 bucks, wow, The 9220 doesn't have the hydraulic setup on it from factory but I didn't ask what it cost. The funny part is the markers cost 8000 when we put them on the old drill. All the units they've setup are still running sf1, none are on sf2 but i think that would be something a guy would have to try and see maybe first. This is giving them 5" of accuracy which to me isn't enough but until I see it in the rows I don't know. The RTK system would be tough if I needed line of site or only 5 miles distance. Great responses guys, keep em coming if you can offer any more words of wisdom
thanx Glen
