SC Wisconsin | I make almost all baleage, very little dry hay any more. I run the baler at pto speed. Baleage takes a lot of power to pull in and keep turning. Also the more turns the bale makes in the chamber makes for thinner layers around the bale and a tighter bale that will ferment better. My baler has knives in it, which is a whole different animal than an open throat baler. | |
