Subject: RE: Raven Viper Pro rate hunting

Your display smoothing is on which means that it will “lie” to you to a degree of what your rate is. That degree of lie I s set by the “off rate percent”. Yours was set to 29 I believe. That means if your rate is with in 29% of target, tell them they are GOOD TO GO! Most all rate controllers do this. Ever ran an old Hiniker? It does not have display smoothing. It bounces a little over and a little under the target as you are running. Never locks on. This is what you call “reality”. Turn display smoothing off and watch it. IT WILL NEVER LOCK ON TO RATE. Because they never REALLY do. ANY OF THEM. Controller manufacturers want it to read EXACTLY target.

If I was running the machine I would set the off rate percent to 5 or 10 and accept that it is going to not read target 100% of the time.

But, Once again, what do I know?
