Well, I'm almost pizzed off at this point. I'll update where things are at and you can give me advice on direction if you wish.

I had to unload trailer and get ready to haul to the dealer the next day. Hired someone to help with conveyor to unload and a truck to haul in($557). It was a nice 0* day BTW. Conveyor had trouble with cold weather and maybe lost 10bu beans on the ground. I hauled the trailer to the dealer the next day and picked up a rental on the way home as I had grain to get in out of grain bags(about 220mi total). Rental trailer(cost $1045+$25ins) was a regular 42', so in hauling 30k bushels, I figured it took 3 extra trips to equal same as my trailer(50mi round trip). I had to wash the trailer($25+time) as well as 110mi there and back. I also will have mileage picking up a new trailer.

I also didn't agree with the valuation process and how they decided to value my trailer. I ended up filing a claim with SD department of insurance. After 2 months, I finally got a letter that they sided with the INS companies evaluation. I have not called them yet, but the claim is closed, so won't do much good. The INS company has only paid me $1602(557+1045). Nothing for any of the other expense.

Am I seriously out of line here? Do I need to just accept where they are at and move on? I'll try to attach a couple pics of the valuation sheets. The State Ins said the INS responsibility is to find a value for my trailer, not a replacement. I don't agree with how they subtracted the options mine had and put a low ball $$ amount and added them back in. I don't agree that a newer trailer is automatically worth so much more per year when farmer owned trailers typically bring more(the make/model/trim on valuations look to figure about $1200/yr for newer trailer). Not 1 of the comparable trailers was setup like mine. My trailer had 1yr old tarp, electric tarp, and electro/hydraulic traps, 10 alum wheels, the "high flow" traps, which isn't real common. And lift 3rd axel. They used some of the lowest price trailers I could find, so I sent them a handful of more comparable trailers, and they used 2 of the lowest price of the 5 I sent them.

They want to offer $31,274 they keep trailer and $28,074 if I keep trailer. Tax and license need paid also. I said do the $31,274 and I keep, they stuck to their offer. What say you guys? What should I do now?
