South Texas | I think about that line pretty often. It is normal here for nothing to transition until death, at which point the farm has been falling apart and the kids are about retired from real jobs. Lot of the land is just left for the deer and pigs, some gets lightly stocked and operated at a loss, some used to get sold but now with the oil mess nothing sells anymore. So we end up with huge amounts of unused or poorly managed land. Used to be almost everything here was farmed, before my time, must of been something to see from the 40s to the 70s.
Here in Texas we get fires and floods. I’d rather take my chances swimming. | |
