Columbia City, Indiana
Wow, I’m glad I just got a text from wbstofer telling me to check NAT!

I bought our place from my Grandpa, who lost his right arm in an Allis round baler 7/7/50. He got $7000 from the insurance company in a settlement. He used that as his down payment. I sometimes tell people he literally paid for this farm with his blood. He farmed here for 60 years with one arm. His last 3 were my first 3, he gave up half the land he was farming to make room for me to come in, then rented the rest to me.

Legacy is very important to me, so this quote, wherever it originally came from, touched me. I told Grandpa that one day this farm would bear a sign with his name, and I’m proud to say he lived to see it. The space below my wife and my name is intentionally blank for whoever comes next, be it one of our kids or grandkids or whatever else God has planned.
