Quite a thread this morning ! I too remember the quote and it struck a cord. turned 60 end of April and we have worked hard at transitioning control for years now
ITS HARD but needs to be done for many reasons ! I have all the respect in the world for my oldest son and partner and felt it was a sign of respect to give him the reins ---he earned them !-- I also felt like his children "my grandkids" needed to see their father in that role instead of answering to the grandad their whole life.
sat in our attorneys office last week and put my money where my mouth was, transitioning a large portion of land ownership over to him and my daughter in law.
It cost money to do it now but walked away with no qualms about it, just the opposite ---FELT GREAT---
