What exactly are you saying has been proven wrong? That article didnt say much of anything of much substance imho. 0-4 swings are vastly different in my soils. Every 1/4" is different. I see 30+ fegree swings some years at 2". Yes the deeper you go the less swing you see. Here a good grower with Deltaforce can get 99% of seeds placed less than +- 1/8" vs a good grower with active pneumatic will stuggle to be within +- 1/4". You couple that with daily 2" soil temps swinging from as low as mid 30s to 60s and you see emergence and ultimately ear differences. Plus our soils are significantly more sticky when colder than as they warm up. Again where the ipad and deltaforce shine because you constantly monitor and change downforce settings throughout the day as the soil warms up and or dries out then cools off and moisture comes up towards evening and throughout the night.
